Faculty-Student Mentorship Program for Self-identified Racialized Students

Dear Mentor,

My name is Simren Trehin, and I am the new coordinator for the Faculty-Student Mentorship Program for Self-Identified Racialized Students. The program is getting off to a late start this year due to the sudden passing of the previous coordinator, Leslie Doucet. Leslie was an invaluable asset to the program and will be missed. Under the circumstances, we are planning for a January start to the program, and have scheduled the new mentors’ workshop for January 14, 2010.

I am writing to invite you to contribute to the program once again, as a faculty mentor, and also to find out if you are still in contact with your previously assigned mentee. Feedback on last year’s program has been very positive, and we are hoping to carry this success over to the program this year. If you would like to be assigned to a mentee, please let me know by January 8, 2010. We anticipate having mentors and mentees matched by the end of January.

Your feedback in this matter would be greatly appreciated. If you would also like to attend the workshop again, the registration page can be found at: http://www.queensu.ca/ctl/programs/programsworkshops/qcred/index.htm

Thanks
Simren Trehin
