NOTICE OF THE
S P R I N G G E N E R A L M E E T I N G
TO: All Members of Queen’s University Faculty Association (QUFA) Faculty, Librarians and Archivists

Dear QUFA Members
The Spring General Meeting of the Queen’s University Faculty Association will be held on Thursday, May 21st, 2020 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm via ZOOM.
As per Article 6 ii) of the QUFA Constitution, proposed amendments to the Constitution must be circulated with the notice of the General Meeting at which they will be considered and voted upon. The amendments to the Constitution is clearly identified and is attached to this email to meet that requirement.
As per Article 5 iii) of the Constitution, an agenda package will be emailed to you one week prior to the meeting. It will include committee reports and motions to be voted upon at the meeting. Please review these reports and proposed motions prior to the meeting.
Please note a few important dates that are coming up in May regarding QUFA Spring General Meeting (SGM) and the election of Executive committee members.
May 14 – Deadline to RSVP intention to attend SGM and to register to vote online for candidates in the open Executive positions is May 14th, please RSVP to QUFA Office Administrator Elizabeth Polnicky.
May 21 – QUFA Spring General Meeting (SGM) and election of Executive committee members 1-3 pm via Zoom.
Please note that only those members that have RSVP’d “yes” before May 14 will receive a link with password to join the SGM and only Association Members will be registered to vote in the elections for Executive positions and will receive a Simply Voting ballot by email in advance of the meeting.
To clarify, if you pay dues to QUFA, you are a member of the Bargaining Unit and have the right to vote on collective agreement matters. You may also elect to join the Association, at no additional cost, and participate in its governance by voting in elections, on proposed budgets and on other governance matters. For this election, no nominations “from the floor” (during the May 21st meeting) will be accepted.
