Call for Job Action Committee Members
As outlined in recent negotiating updates, bargaining with the university administration for a new Collective Agreement continues. While it is our hope that a mutually satisfactory Collective Agreement can be negotiated without job action, we must be ready in the event that such action is needed. To that effect, QUFA is seeking volunteers for the Job Action Committee (JAC).
QUFA’s Job Action Committee is responsible for coordinating strike pay and all expenses related to a strike, all aspects of picketing, and securing and running a strike headquarters. A well-run JAC will be crucial to the success of any potential job action. In addition, sub-committees will be established under the direction of the JAC to focus on the three core responsibilities noted above. Any and all QUFA members are welcome to join the committee. If you are interested in joining QUFA’s Job Action Committee, please contact Amanda Ross White, QUFA’s Job Action Chair at amanada.ross-white@queensu.ca. We especially encourage members of equity-seeking groups to volunteer.
